I love filling up mine to the top with fresh smoothie ingredients to make a creamy smoothie for everyone in the family. This high-speed blender is also capable of executing an excellent thick texture for smoothie bowls. It can even create “nice cream” by simply tossing in frozen fruit and blending.
– Nut Milk and Oat Milk: Creating nut milks in a Vitamix is easy with a few steps! If you want to make nut milks with this blender, you’ll need to purchase a nut milk bag to strain the milk. But you will end up with silky milk that tastes pure with clean ingredients. Here is a simple almond milk recipe to see how.

– Baby food or kid purees: I love using my Vitamix to make baby foods and purees for kids. Steam foods, puree them, then store them in reusable pouches or baby food jars for later or on the go.
How to clean a Vitamix machine is a few simple steps:
The first thing you’ll want to do is rinse the blender container with clean water making sure there is no food residue left behind. You can use a small brush or clean sponge to scrub off leftover residue and ensure the blades and corners are clean. Avoid using a harsh pot scrubber, using one could cause scratches.
The next step is to fill the pitcher half full with warm soapy water. I usually add 2-3 drops of mild dish soap liquid.
After that, put the pitcher back on the power base and put the lid on the pitcher.
Then turn the blender on a low speed for about one minute. After that increase the speed to medium for another 30 seconds to one minute. The water should get nice and foamy.
Next, turn off the blender, take off the lid, and dump the soapy water into the sink. Give the pitcher and lid a quick rinse one more time getting rid of all the leftover soap. Double-check the inside of the container to make sure all of the food and soap is gone. Then turn them upside down on a towel in a dry place and allow the clean pitcher and lid to air dry.
Once or twice a week run your blender pitcher and lid through a normal sanitizing cycle on the top rack of the dishwasher. This cleaning method will keep your Vitamix blades sharp longer.
Note: If you have stuck on food, do a vinegar soak for several hours first, complete this process. Make sure to use a soft sponge or brush to release any stuck-on food before blending warm soapy water.
This cleaning process is a great way to clean any Vitamix and other blenders as well!

HOW TO CLEAN THE BASE OF THE BLENDER:
To clean the base of the blender you only need two things hot water and a clean towel.
First, make sure you unplug the blender from the power source.
Then run the towel under hot water and squeeze out any excess water. Use your damp cloth to wipe down the base and release any remaining residue. Once the base is clean you can let it air dry or wipe it down with a dry cloth.
If you like, you can spray the base down with a white vinegar solution first to help release any stuck-on food particles.
Another way to quickly clean your blender base is to use a magic eraser! Get the eraser wet, squeeze out the extra water, and scrub off the pieces of food with the eraser.

HOW TO GET STAINS OUT OF BLENDER PITCHERS:
I often get turmeric stains in my blender pitcher. You’ll know your pitcher is stained by seeing a light yellow tint in the pitcher. It seems impossible to get out. The first time it happened to me I panicked. But no worries! This is an easy fix.
If you have stubborn stains on the pitcher of your blender, set it under a UV light or in direct sunlight for a couple of days. The light will bleach the stains. I have a small UV light (This is the exact one I have and love it!) I use it for sprouting in my kitchen. It takes 2-3 days for turmeric stains to completely come out of the pitcher.
These photos show my Vitamix with a bad turmeric stain. After about 4 days under the UV light, the stain lifted!

How To clean a Cloudy Vitamix:
if you’re noticing a cloudy Vitamix container you’re not alone! This is a mineral build-up and hard water stains that happen over time. Clearing it up is easy, do the following steps once a month to keep your blender shining.
First, create a vinegar mix. To do this, fill your pitcher half full with warm water. Then add at least a cup of white vinegar to the mix. You can do half vinegar and half water. Make sure your pitcher is mostly full. Then allow it to soak for 12 – 24 hours.
After that create a baking soda paste with 1 part baking soda and 1/4 part water. For example, 1 cup of baking soda and 1/4 cup of water. mix it until it becomes a paste.
Then use an old toothbrush or another soft bottle brush you have to scrub all the nooks and crannies with the paste and brush. The residue should easily come off.
When you’re done, thoroughly rise the pitcher with warm water. Then dry it with a clean towel.
You’re cloudy container should be clear! If you still have stubborn parts, repeat this process.

CONCLUSION:
It can be frustrating when your blender starts to get a white film on it or gets stained. The good news is if you keep up with these easy methods, your blender will stay shiny. Remember, it doesn’t have to be a hard fix, it only takes a few simple ingredients: warm water, baking soda, and a few drops of dish soap. Keep up with the daily cleaning to prevent bacteria growth and stuck on food. Then at least once a week run the blender through a dishwasher cycle. Once a month, do a deep clean with baking soda paste. Taking care of your blender this way will help it last longer!
