Since you can top them with “heavier” ingredients, like granola, they are more filling than a classic smoothie and great for a boost of energy.

Tips for creating the perfect smoothie bowl:
Use frozen bananas: Frozen bananas are the key to getting a thick creamy smoothie bowl. Their density adds a soft-serve ice cream texture. With room temperature bananas, your smoothie will turn out like a standard drinking smoothie.
Use frozen fruits: Also, use frozen fruit! The more frozen foods you have, the thicker the smoothie will be.
High speed blenders are great for smoothie bowls, vegan cheeses, and sauces. Here’s my favorite one.
Go slow: Starting your blender slow will help your ingredients break down at evenly. You can speed up the blender as the elements being to break down and infuse.
Don’t over-blend: Over blending will cause the smoothie texture to become thinner. We want to spoon these babies up! So try not to over blend.

Healthy Chocolate Banana Smoothie Bowl

- 1/2 Cup Old Fashion Oats
- 2 Frozen Bananas
- 1 Tablespoon Peanutbutter
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 Cup Almond Milk
Toppings
- 3 Strawberries, sliced
- 1 Tablespoon Peanutbutter
- 1 Tablespoon Shaved coconut
- 1 Tablespoon Sliced Almonds
- 1 Teaspoon Hemp Hearts
Instructions
- First, add the oats to a high-speed blender and pulse 2-3 times. This will help break down the oats and mix them with the rest of the base ingredients better.
- Next, add bananas, peanut butter, cinnamon, cocoa powder, and almond milk. Then blend on low, slowly speeding up the blender until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
- After that, transfer the smoothie to a bowl and add strawberries, shaved coconut, sliced almonds, and hemp hearts as toppings. Other toppings could be cashews, peanut butter, or blueberries.
