This is a fun twist on a chai latte. I went through a strong chai tea phase and came up with this smoothie during it. It’s smooth with just the right amount of spice. This recipe doesn’t contain black tea so it is caffeine-free.
What is Masala Chai tea?
Masala Chai tea originated in South Asia. The name “chai” is the Hindi word for “tea.” Which came from “cha” the Chinese word for “tea.” Traditional chai is made with a blend of spices: peppercorn, cardamon, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves and brewed with honey, black tea, and milk.

Chai has a spicey earthy flavor.
Is chai good for you?
Yes! Because of the spice blend, Chai may help aid digestion, reduce blood sugar and encourage heart health.
How to make Chai Smoothie
Ingredients:
2 Frozen banans
1/2 Cup Ice
1 cup Almond Milk
2 Pitted Dates
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Ginger
1/8 Teaspoon Cardamon
1/8 Teaspoon Cloves
1/8 Teaspoon Pepper
1/8 Teaspoon Nutmeg
Preparation:
Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
Notes:
- If the texture is too thick, add more almond milk 1/4 cup at a time. Until you get your desired texture.
